Dear Batavia City School District Families, 

Thank you to everyone who attended our Community Information Session. We appreciate the opportunity to share information, answer questions and discuss the feedback received through our recent survey. For those who were unable to attend, or for anyone who would like a summary of the information shared, we have attached a family guide outlining the following:

• Who to contact when a concern arises
• What happens after a report is made
• What families can expect throughout the investigation process
• Supports available for students
• The role of School Resource Officers and law enforcement
• The difference between bullying, conflict, harassment and other Code of Conduct violations
• Key themes we heard from families and how BCSD is moving forward

A key message from the session was that every family should know exactly what to do if they have a concern, what follow-up they can expect and how the District works to support students while balancing student confidentiality requirements.
